74th Founding Anniversary of DPRK Splendidly Celebrated































  Pyongyang, September 10 (KCNA) -- All the Korean people significantly celebrated the 74th founding anniversary of the DPRK.


The people and service personnel visited the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche, where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state, to pay the highest tribute to them.


Working people, service personnel, youth and students visited the statues of the President and the Chairman and the mosaics depicting their smiling images on Mansu Hill and in other parts of the country before laying floral baskets, bouquets and flowers and making bows to them.


Ceremonies for hoisting the national flags were held across the country.


The participants in the celebrations of the 74th founding anniversary of the DPRK visited various places of Pyongyang City amid the warm welcome by citizens.


Art performances were given in Pyongyang and local areas.


Youth and students and members of the women's union held sports and cultural events including dancing parties and sports and amusement games in different parts of the country, revving up the festive mood. -0-

For Koreans, September 74 years ago was undoubtedly one of the most joyful and epochal months in their 5000 years-long history. On the 2nd of September 1948, on the basis of the results of the north-south general election, the First Session of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was held in Pyongyang. It adopted the first Constitution of the DPRK.
