THE DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF KOREA - THE LAND OF JUCHE 74 years of Progress and Prosperity under the Banner of the Juche Idea-Martin Lotscher Swiss Korea Committe & KFA Switzerland





There were many socialist countries in the world, but most of them disappeared in the late 1980s due to the leading parties' degeneration to revisionism and betrayal of the ideals of socialism.


Even the once powerful Soviet Union (including Soviet Russia 1917-1922), the first socialist state, crumbled after 74 years of existence due to its destruction by the "Perestroika" renegades.


Turmoil and rebellion, organised by the anti-socialist hostile forces, supported by the imperialists and reactionaries, led to the collapse of socialism in Europe in the years 1989-1991.


But there is a socialist state in the Far East which not only survived all obstacles and challenges of history, but achieved one victory after the other on the way of socialist construction.


This country is the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the land of Juche, founded by the great Leader Comrade KIM IL SUNG on September 9, Juche 37 (1948).


The DPRK will celebrate its 74th founding anniversary and will reach the same age as the Soviet Union when it collapsed.

But all people who know the DPRK's reality and vitality of Juche-oriented socialism know very well that it will never collapse, regardless of what will happen in other parts of the world.


What is the "secret" of the DPRK's invincible might? It is the ideological strength of the great Juche idea, created by President KIM IL SUNG and developed and enriched in depth by Chairman KIM JONG IL, and the single-minded unity of the whole society and people around the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the Leader.


Thanks to the Juche idea the DPRK is totally independent in ideology, politics, economy, defense, culture, science and all other fields. It created from the beginning a strong self-reliant economy which was never part of the Soviet-led bloc.


The whole society of socialist Korea is a harmonious family, guided by a good-hearted and benevolent leader from generation to generation - a leader who loves the country and the people and believes in people as Heaven.


In the last more than seven decades since its foundation, the DPRK became the most perfect socialist state, a real people's country. It was never affected by turmoil and uprisings.


A society where the popular masses are the masters and all serves them can never be destabilised.


Socialist Korea became the people's paradise where health care, education and housing is free and taxes are completely abolished.


People in south Korea, trampled down by the US imperialist occupation, the fascist "Security Law" and a ruthless and brutal neoliberal capitalism, can only dream of the good and happy life of their compatriots in the north.


The DPRK is also the initiator for the Korean people's just struggle for national reunification. Thanks to Chairman KIM JONG IL's and respected Supreme Leader Comrade KIM JONG UN's patriotism and policy of peace, five inter-Korean summit meetings took place between 2000 and 2018, and four north-south joint declarations were signed successfully.


The DPRK is also a military giant, but one which defends peace. Thanks to the policy of priority of military affairs and its strong nuclear deterrent, the US imperialists did not dare to attack the DPRK and to start a second Korean War.


The DPRK is now a nuclear weapon state which makes it the invincible and steel-like bulwark and citadel of world socialism!


The glorious DPRK can be proud of its 74 years of progress and prosperity under the banner of the great Juche idea! Under the wise and noble leadership of respected Supreme Leader Comrade KIM JONG UN socialist Korea has a rosy future!


And Korea will be reunified for sure! Nothing and no force on earth can stop Korea's victorious march forward to a prosperous reunified nation!

For Koreans, September 74 years ago was undoubtedly one of the most joyful and epochal months in their 5000 years-long history. On the 2nd of September 1948, on the basis of the results of the north-south general election, the First Session of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was held in Pyongyang.
